Dev Notes
Thank you for your patience. Let me explain what has been going on behind the scenes.
Remember the voting poll and the Devoted Wife 2D project from around a month ago?
The poll results are in, and opinions were fairly split. Some veteran fans also reached out personally to share their thoughts.
After taking everything into consideration, I’ve decided to continue with the original art style.
However, to solve the issues I was facing with the old 3D production structure, some major changes had to be made.
You can already see the direction in this latest update.
The previous production setup was starting to create problems that would eventually cause serious delays. I really don’t want that to happen, especially when release consistency is important. So this rework was necessary to remove future bottlenecks before they became bigger problems.
The goal now is simple: spend less time fighting the production tools, and more time focusing on the important animations, renders, and story moments.
Final Rework
What you see in this latest update is most likely the final overall look of the project moving forward.
This new direction is much easier to maintain, especially when quality control has to be applied across thousands of renders.
Character quality and render quality will continue to improve over time, but this should be the foundation for future releases.
Rework Procedure
This update only contains Chapter 59 of the overall project, which is why the file size is much smaller.
Chapters 1–58 still need to be reintegrated into the project with their new and upgraded scripts. You may have already seen a sneak peek of this direction in the 2D version.
My current plan is to provide small biweekly updates while still working on the main story update, Chapter 60.
For example, Chapters 1–5 may be released first, then the next batch after that, until the older chapters catch up with the latest version. At the same time, the newest chapter will still continue production on the usual schedule.
Help on the Project
I’ve also found someone to assist with the project.
As you know, game production involves a lot of moving parts, writing, coding, renders, animations, translations, testing, optimization, and more.
A new helper needs time to understand the workflow and the overall progress of the project, so training took up a good amount of time this month. This also contributed to the delay, but it is a healthy delay that should help production in the long run.
Regarding Stolen
As I’ve mentioned since the beginning, Stolen was partly created for me to test new features and functions before bringing them into the main project.
Because of the current Devoted Wife rework, Stolen will resume production after about a month. For now, the focus will be on releasing and reintegrating the previous Devoted Wife chapters first.
That said, I’m still open to hearing your thoughts on this.
Patreon Posts
Also, Patreon posts will now be set to private.
Most of the older posts were originally public, but I really want to share more project spicy artwork freely. To keep things safer and avoid misinterpretation from public previews, future artwork posts will be shared privately instead.
TL;DR The poll results are out, and we’ll be continuing with the original art style.
These are all healthy delays.
No time was wasted.
This month was spent:
• eliminating future production issues
• training a new helper
• switching and stabilizing the production pipeline
• finalizing the overall look of the project
• preparing the project for more reliable future updates
Overall, this has still been a very productive month.
Though most of it happens behind the scenes.
Just so you know, I’m always working on the project behind the scenes. I’m always online. No time is being wasted.
I’m honestly disappointed that the update had to be delayed, but I’m moving at the best pace I can while making sure the project improves in the right direction.
This delay wasn’t caused by a lack of work, it happened because I’m trying to solve the bigger issues now, instead of letting them slow everything down later. Thanks again for sticking with me through every step of this journey 💛
P.S. Don’t forget to check out the spicy version of the featured GIF. It’s waiting for you in the game! 😉 and make sure to check out the renewed animations in your Animations Tab under EXTRAS.
