Release Highlights
What’s new in v0.55?
Story & Dialogue
• Added 700 new lines of dialogue in this update.
• Upgraded storytelling engine for faster rendering (see Dev Notes)
• New voice lines and updated sound effects to match key scenes.
Visuals & Animations • Software updated. Hardware upgraded. (See Dev Notes) • 46 new animations and renders added. • 2 new scenes added to the Animation Tab.
⚠️ Some animations and visuals have been temporarily reverted to versions from two updates ago.
This is because the new software is not yet fully compatible with the current state of the project.
Without reverting, the release of v0.55 would have been delayed another week or more. I managed to update and fully integrate the new software with Stolen because it’s a smaller project.
However, Devoted Wife is much larger, and updating every chapter takes significant time. (like 5x the time required)
Other Improvements
• (Major upgrade) File optimization completed➜ Game size reduced by 50% (from ~1600 MB to ~800 MB)
• No visual or content quality loss despite the size reduction
• Save files now works. Tested.
Translation Update • All 15 languages translated and checked.

Dev Notes
Hey everyone! Last update was a big win for cutting the game size by 50%. This update might look like a step back to some people, but in the long run it's actually a major upgrade. I’ve updated the software used to produce renders, and after some work, I’ve managed to make it mostly compatible with the latest version of Devoted Wife. Because the project is so large, this caused a 4-day delay from the estimated release date.
The upside?
This new setup allows me to produce more renders in a much shorter time, and it puts far less stress on my computer. In just a short period of testing, I’ve already managed to generate five times the amount of renders I normally produce. (Before you say anything, remember I still have to write the scripts too, and both contributes to the total time taken for each release.)\
Updating the software and adapting it to the project took about a week hence the delay.
And to release v0.55 on time, I had to take a shortcut and temporarily revert some visuals to earlier versions.
The good news is that future updates will gradually refine the game again, starting from Chapter 1.
In fact, I’ve already worked through up to Chapter 18, and it’s almost complete.

The storyline remains largely the same, but you'll see improvements such as:
• better dialogue flow, around 90% of the script has been refined, with improved wording and phrasing throughout.
• improved consistency
• more immersive visuals
One thing that really bothers me is the visual inconsistency between earlier chapters and newer ones.
And balancing two updates per payment cycle while also improving older chapters is honestly a constant struggle. It sometimes feels like a train chasing its own tail.
While I'm polishing earlier chapters, I'm also finishing new ones at the same time.
So, the software update had to happen eventually. To meet the estimated release date, I had to cut corners, and no way am I cutting corners on the script. Hence, the renders and animations had to take the compromise.
But from here on out, the goal is simple:
More renders. More immersion. No shortcuts. Thanks again for sticking with me through every step of this journey 💛
P.S.
Don’t forget to check out the spicy version of the featured GIF. It’s waiting for you in the game! 😉 and make sure to check out the renewed animations in your Animations Tab under EXTRAS.
P.P.S. Does the featured image look familiar? Yep. Don’t worry. I’ll be replacing the artwork for this post in two days.
